I am a PhD candidate in Management (Accounting)
at Wilfrid Laurier University
with research interests at the intersection of sustainability accounting, environmental governance, and risk management. My dissertation research explores how civil society actors such as NGOs bring public attention to corporate practices that raise ethical or governance concerns.
More About Me
In addition to my core focus on sustainability and environmental accounting, I also explore themes in corporate governance and ethics. More recently, I have been looking at the implications of AI ethics for organizational decision making and transparency and its implications for developing countries.
My academic journey is grounded in a deep and enduring love for teaching. That passion began in my secondary school (high school) days as a boarding student in Nigeria, where I routinely taught my classmates. I carried that spirit with me through my national diploma and university and post grdauate education in Nigeria, the United States of America and Canada, always finding myself drawn to collaborative learning and peer instruction.
Prior to academia, I worked in Audit, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Planning and Risk Management across public and private sectors. I now bring those experiences into my research and teaching, with the aim of bridging practical relevance and critical insight in the field of accounting.
